With last week's NFL Draft finally complete (by the way, the final selection in this year's draft was Charlie "Crazy Legs" Knoblewurst), the legal world is now focused on the next most important draft of the year -- the Law World's draft.  Who will get their full-time offers?  Who will get summer associateships?  Who will wind up interning?  And,  who will go undrafted and decide that the family business of sea cucumber farming isn't that bad after all. All this got us at the Comedians at Law ... [click here to read more]

Today from OLS, wise words from a student’s supervising attorney:

“law school is a cruel hazing ritual for the lawyer club…..the only good thing about it…..is that it ends.”

Recently, Vivid Entertainment (a company many of us here know all to well) was sued by the C3 Entertainment, the company that manages the 'Three Stooges' brand. Vivid recently released, 'Not the Three Stooges XXX' and C3 called foul, alleging infringement of intellectual property. Vivid has an extensive stable of parody films, such as 'Batman XXX: A Porn Parody' and 'Superman XXX: A Porn Parody'. The parody used to be a strictly protected form of speech and expression, allowing nearly anybody to ... [click here to read more]
Fox is set to launch a new animated block on Saturday nights and they've made their first purchase, a show called Axe Cop.   We at Comedians at Law are comprised of some optimists and some more cynical and bitter folks. But even the most optimistic and glass half full members, wanted to shatter that glass over whatever executive at Fox gave actual US currency to the creator the new animated show, Axe Cop...who happens to be a FIVE YEAR OLD KID. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!! I repeat, they paid ... [click here to read more]
This weekend the number one movie in America was "Think Like a Man" based off of Steve Harvey's best selling dating book.  The movie was enjoyable, but may not be the greatest how-to manual: Comedians at Law's research has uncovered that Harvey has been married three times, so he may not be the best source of relationship bliss.  In that spirit we at Comedians At Law, who as a collection of lawyers and comedians represent two of America's most socially awkward groups of people, have decided ... With exam time upon us, Comedians-at-Law and Only-in-Law School want to send our best wishes out to all those suffering in silence. You'll get through it...hell, we did! This week from OLS: DUI defendants are the easiest for a jury to sympathize with. Recently, John Brennan decided he would best express his outrage at the TSA by baring it all. The 50 year old man felt he was being harassed while in the Portland airport. His response: get naked "I just took off my clothes and said 'See, I don't have any explosives,'" Brennan said. "The individuals at TSA are just doing their job and the whole organization needs to find a balance between safety and privacy. They use fear and intimidation and it's got to stop somewhere." None of us like the ... [click here to read more]
